Nijmegen is the oldest city in The Netherlands. During Roman times it was a bustling garrison town, known as Ulpia Noviomagus.
Above ground level are no remains to be found that reminds of this glorious time.
Therefore, time windows are now placed in information kiosks on three carefully selected locations. The visitor can "travel" to these locations in the year 100 AD, just by pressing a button. This wat they are able to cast a short but impressive glance at the Roman Nijmegen. All locations are meticulously rebuilt in 3D computer animation with digital and real actors who bring a lively atmosphere. The whole project was developed in close cooperation with the Nijmegen city archaeologists.

Nijmegen is de oudste stad van ons land. Gedurende de Romeinse tijd was het een levendige garnizoensstad, toen bekend onder de naam Ulpia Noviomagus.
Boven het maaiveld zijn echter geen resten meer te vinden van deze roemruchte tijd.
Daarom zijn op drie plaatsen tijdvensters geplaatst waar de bezoeker door middel van een druk op de knop kan ‘reizen’ naar het jaar 100 na Christus en een blik kan werpen op het Romeinse Nijmegen. Alle locaties zijn uiterst zorgvuldig nagebouwd in 3D computeranimatie met digitale én echte acteurs die een levendige sfeer brengen. Het project is in nauwe samenwerking met de Nijmeegse stadsarcheologen tot stand gekomen.
